Hello everyone over the past couple of weeks I have been working on an artifact that discusses the impotortance of ICT in teaching and learning. This artifact is part of an assessment that I was required to complete as a part of my ICT and pedagogy course. Please feel free to click on the following link so you can enjoy my work.
These are great things to use when you are preparing fo an assignment. The aim of a concept map is to break up topic of assessment into manageable blocks these blocks allow you to look at the topic in sections so you can work out what you need to discuss refer to the example on the right.
I had the opportunity to create my first online concept map a few days ago and found it really easy using a mapping program I found on the Internet. I have created maps before using a pen and paper but nothing compares to using a proper program for the job. it’s exciting.

I have learnt a lot in this course so far I was a bit hesitant in taking this course because my ICT skills still need a lot of work but I am enjoying using all the new programs. This is due to the way it is being taught. Hence the title it is very important that teachers who teach this subject are well-informed on the different ICTs available so they can assist the student’s as they learn. This is where the word pedagogy comes in, it took me a while to sort out what pedagogy actually means in layman’s terms it simply means “The way Teachers Teach”. Its how they prepare their lessons and how they deliver their lessons that makes a big difference in the way students learn.

Number 1: Technology is always trade-off I feel that you need to upgrade your technology or be left behind. I am still using old technology and sometimes I feel like an odd bod because I don’t have a “smart Phone or an Ipad or on Facebook”. This is not a nice feeling.
Number 2: Technology creates winners and losers
Winners – Tend to be the upper-class people who can afford to go out and buy the latest technologies. Losers – Tend to be the lower class people who cannot afford the latest in technological trends.
Number 3: There is a powerful idea embedded in every technology I have two different views on this statement the first is that every ICT produced is made for the good of man to help them go about their daily routines easier and to be more productive, however the other view is company’s only produce these technologies as a money spinner you be the judge.
Number 4: Technology is ecological, not additive We have become a technology driven society information needs to be accessed from wherever we are in our community making us impatient and lacking tolerance. I believe technology is addictive especially when you see children glued to a computer screen or a DS this is not a good thing.
#5: Technology tends to become mythic The Internet has become gospel everything on it must be true or people wouldn’t put it there. If people are to use the Net then they should be able to source truthful information.
I found postmans five really interesting
During my ICT course I was introduced to an amazing web site called Scootle it has everything in there that a teacher needs to produce, prepare and teach a class. The resources for this site have been collected and added to by teachers, it is very user freindly and is being updated all the time so it stays in tune with the curriculum. This site also allows teachers to make up leasson plans that includes pathways for the students to follow, these pathways are a great idea as the students have to participate in the unit and complete set activites to be able to move up the pathway hence completing the nessesary objectives of a unit in the set curriculum. It is also a great site for students who need to find resources for their assignments. I think this site

ICTs stand for information and communication technologies these technologies are a diverse set of tools and resources used to communicate, create, store, and manage information. Information and communication technologies have provided society with a vast array of new communication capabilities. For example, people can communicate in Real time with others in different countries using technologies such as instant messaging, voice over IP (Voip), and video-conferencing. Social networking websites like Facebook allow users from all over the world to remain in contact and communicate on a regular basis. This type of communication has allowed students to learn about other cultures from real people all over the world. ICT also helps to enhance school curriculums by opening up the classroom to a world of knowledge and activities. I think ICTs are a great resource to have in our schools.
